Important Information for Graduates

Before the Ceremony

  • Order your regalia.
  • Come up with a plan for day-of parking for you and your guests.
  • Read all Stephen C. O’Connell Center polices, especially the prohibited items list
  • Remember to check your UF email frequently as you will receive important information leading up to the day of the ceremony.
  • Share this website with your friends and family!

Day of the Ceremony

  • Arrive at Gate 4 at the time that your ceremony’s doors open at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. You must be dressed in your regalia (cap & gown), with your completed name card, and remember any cords or medals (if applicable). To find when your ceremony’s doors open click here.
  • Follow signage to find the flag with your major’s name on it, then check in with your major’s assigned marshal who will be standing near the flag.

*All Bachelor’s degree majors flags will be lined up in alphabetical order with the exception of:
*ZOOLOGY and BOTANY majors, line up with Biology/Botany/Zoology;
*BIOCHEMISTRY, line up with Chemistry/Biochemistry flag;
*PORTUGUESE, line up with Spanish & Portuguese;
*FOREIGN LANGUAGE MAJORS, with the exception of Spanish and Portuguese, lineup with Foreign Language and Literatures flag.

∗Master’s degree graduates will line up with the ‘MASTER’S DEGREES’ flag, not with your major. All master’s degree students will line up together in no particular order.

  • Line up behind your flag to prepare for processional.
  • Our staff and faculty marshals will give you directions from there.
